Our 2027 trip takes a small group through three of Italy's most extraordinary places.
We begin with two nights in Rome, staying in Trastevere in a stunning former Baroque convent designed by Borromini — one of the most beautiful small hotels in the city. We explore the neighborhood on foot, eat where locals eat, and discover the kind of places that never make the tourist lists.
Then we head to Montalcino in Tuscany, where we stay on one of Italy's most celebrated Brunello estates, surrounded by vineyards, with private tastings and meals on the property — wine lovers consider this one of the great wine destinations in the world. We'll wander the hilltop towns of the Val d'Orcia, stop into small churches, local shops, farms, and take our time in a landscape that feels completely untouched.
We finish in the Castelli Romani — the ancient hill towns just outside Rome where Romans have escaped for centuries, and where most American travelers never find their way. We stay at a private historic wine estate dating back to around 1000 AD, with its own vineyards and views of Rome in the distance. From there we explore at our own pace — local markets, smaller museums and cultural sites that don't make the guidebooks, long lunches, wine from families who have been making it in these hills for generations.
Every meal, every wine, every experience, and every driver is included. Fabrizio handles everything on the ground — he grew up in Rome, knows the people, speaks the language, and has the kind of access that makes the difference between a beautiful trip and an unforgettable one. Groups are intentionally small. That's what makes all of it work.
